Scotland’s latest and most popular musical export, Snow Patrol, will be touring in the U.S. this spring, for a slate of dates between March and mid-May.
Before heading to this side of the pond, the boys –Gary Lightbody, Nathan Connolly, Paul Wilson, Jonny Quinn and Tom Simpson, all originally from either Scotland or Northern Ireland– will strike out on a UK-Ireland tour. Then they’ll land on our shores to kick off in North America with their first show March 29 in Orlando, Fla. Other stops on the tour include Atlanta, Nashville, Washington, DC, Boston, Chicago, and Seattle, just to name a few. They finish plowing across the country May 18 in Houston.
Snow Patrol will be promoting music from their sixth studio album, Fallen Empires, which was released last November. Special guest Ed Sheeran, a British singer/songwriter, will be joining them on the road. Snow Patrol wrapped up 2009 with the release of “Up To Now,” their first ‘best of’ album. The 30-track double album features singles, cover versions, rarities and tracks by the Reindeer Section. The album is available as a CD, DVD, double CD, download and Limited Edition Boxset.
Snow Patrol is currently gearing up for a small set of live performances. They will be playing throughout Europe in May and June. Support for these dates will be UK sensation, Foals. There is no word yet if the band will be extending the tour in the U.S., so fans may have to wait a little while longer for Snow Patrol tickets.

Snow Patrol has announced that, after finding massive success as an alt-pop group, they are going to help up-and-coming artists with their publishing company.
Polar Music, as it will be called, is a way for the band to nurture new songwriters without the burden of a long-term contract. Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody, guitarist Jonny Quinn and drummer Nathan Connolly will act as talent scouts for the effort.
The company will operate independently of the band’s contract with Universal Music Publishing, giving them more freedom.
The group now joins the ranks of other seasoned bands that have worked to unearth new talent, including U2 and Elton John.
